The load switches can be connected to the BUCK regulators and to the controllable active load circuit on the EK.
Load switch input configuration
The following figure shows how the load switch inputs are connected to VOUT1 and VOUT2 with jumpers on P15.
Figure 1. Load switch input configuration
The following table shows the configuration for the load switch inputs.
| PMIC pin | Connected net | Connecting jumper pins | Comment |
|---|---|---|---|
| LSIN1/VINLDO1 | VOUT1 | P15 pin 3 to pin 4 | Denoted as 1 on the EK |
| LSIN2/VINLDO2 | VOUT2 | P15 pin 1 to pin 2 | Denoted as 2 on the EK |
Load switch output configuration
The load switch outputs can be connected to the controllable active load on the EK. Use a jumper on P20 to select LSOUT1 or LSOUT2 as a source for the controllable active load.
The following figure and table show the nPM1304 load switch output configuration.
Figure 2. Load switch output configuration
| Jumper connection | Comment | |
|---|---|---|
| LS_OUT | LS_LDO_OUT1 | Load switch output LSOUT1 on PMIC. Denoted as 1 on the EK. |
| LS_LDO_OUT2 | Load switch output LSOUT2 on PMIC. Denoted as 2 on the EK. | |
Note: When configuring nPM1304 for load switch
operation, disconnect the Low-Dropout Regulator (LDO) bypass capacitor by removing the
jumper on P16.
