Wi-Fi Location

nRF93M1 Datasheet

nRF93M1 can operate as a Wi-Fi beacon receiver supporting IEEE 802.11b DSSS reception in the 2.4 GHz band for access point (AP) based positioning. It performs signal reception and passive detection and decoding of beacon frames. Operations can be time-multiplexed with cellular functionality.

Scanning occurs when LTE is in RRC Idle mode (DRX/eDRX), PSM, or when cellular functionality is fully deactivated and can be configured and started through AT Commands. Positioning is determined by a location service such as Nordic nRF Cloud using the reported beacon data.

This is a location solution ideal for cost and power sensitive devices. For more information also please refer to the nRF93M1 AT Command documentation
