System power modes

nRF93M1 Datasheet

The power management system transitions automatically between the defined operating modes based on configuration, host interaction, and the LTE modem state.

Table 4. System wide power modes
Mode Description Entry and exit
System ON Full operation. The LTE radio, functional blocks, and peripherals are available. When power saving is enabled and the modem is in RRC Idle, eDRX, or PSM, the module sleeps automatically and wakes on host or network activity. Full application and network context, including sockets, TLS/DTLS sessions, and network registration, is preserved throughout. Entered from System Disabled by POWERKEY held low for at least 10 ms. Power saving is enabled with %MODULECFG="autoPowerSave" and is automatically managed.
System OFF Deep low-power sleep that retains network registration and all configured wake-up sources. SRAM is not retained and ongoing tasks are terminated. Opt-in only, and intended for long-cycle periodic operation. See 4.5.1. AT%SYSOFF=1, which requires UART1 at a fixed baud rate of 9,600 bps or lower. Exit on any configured wake source, or AT%SYSOFF=0.
System Disabled Lowest functional state. Nothing is retained and the module is deregistered from the network. Default after VDD is applied. Entered with AT%POWD, or POWERKEY low for at least 650 ms. Wake by POWERKEY low for at least 10 ms, followed by a module boot.
