When you have a terminal profile selected, the Panel View Toolbar features several buttons specific to the terminal profiles. These are listed in the following table.

| Turn On Local Echo | Enables local echoing of typed characters when the device does not echo back input. Only applies in the character mode. | |
| Turn Off Local Echo | Disables local echoing of typed characters. Only applies in the character mode. | |
| Switch to Line Mode | Switches the terminal to the line mode, where input is sent line-by-line when you press Enter. | |
| Switch to Character Mode | Switches the terminal to the character mode, where each keystroke is sent directly to the device. | |
| Save Terminal Content | Saves the current terminal content to a file. This button is also available in the toolbars of other views after opening a terminal connection. | |
| Select Zephyr Log Dictionary | Loads a log_dictionary.json file to decode Zephyr dictionary-based log output in an active nRF RTT Terminal or nRF Serial Terminal connection. Also available from the Command Palette. |
