The following table describes all available parameters for the read command:
| Parameter | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|
--address |
Start address to read from | Required |
--bytes |
Number of bytes to read | One word of the specified width |
--width |
Word width: 8, 16, or 32 bits | 32 if word-aligned, 16 if half-word aligned, 8 otherwise |
--to-file |
Output the device memory data to the specified HEX file instead of printing to standard output. This flag can only be used for one device at a time. | Optional; by default, output is printed to standard output |
--direct |
Skip memory controller setup and perform a direct read. With this parameter, the address is not checked against memory ranges defined for programming. Use with caution as it may lead to unexpected behavior or damage to the device. | Not enabled |
--core |
Select a specific core to use for reading the memory (application, network, secure, etc.). Make sure the core is available on your device. This parameter is useful if the core has specific memory assigned to it, as this parameter also implicitly selects the memory, for example on nRF53 Series devices. If the cores on the device share the memory, this parameter is not required. |
